She is a practising family physician at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and Optum Medical Care in Vista, California. She is the senior medical officer-in-charge of the 31 Area Branch Medical Clinic at Edson Range, Camp Pendleton.
During the pandemic, she was a member of the team that managed the COVID-19 tents at Camp Pendleton from June 2020 until June 2021.
In 2003, she was part of the International Health Services Foundation team to Afghanistan to help improve health care delivery after the war. In the 1990s, she was part of a team of Christian healthcare professionals who helped establish a successful program for the settlement of refugees in Ghana from Liberia during the war in their country; and as a pioneering physician, she was instrumental in the successful setup and operation of the Manna Mission Clinic at Teshie, a fishing town in Accra, Ghana, which is now a hospital with many domestic and regional mission affiliated enterprises.
Dora is a graduate of the University of Ghana Medical School and In His Image Family Practice Residency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She serves on the board of Amani Medical Foundation and is a member of the Economic Summit – Africa. With a heart for International Medical Missions and Disaster Response, Dora is bringing a holistic, solution-based healthcare to deprived individuals and communities in Africa, Asia, South and Central America, the Caribbean, and the USA. Dora enjoys travelling, teaching, mentoring, listening to music, walking, and cooking.
